Fathers and Daughters

“He wrote to her, about her, and for her.”

The story runs on two clocks, one in the years just after a Pulitzer-winning novelist loses his wife, the other 27 years later. Jake Davis (Russell Crowe) is a widower raising a small daughter while trying to recover from a mental breakdown. Gabriele Muccino then follows that daughter as a grown woman, Katie (Amanda Seyfried), who struggles to let anyone close, with Jake the one person she has ever really held onto.
