Fear
Irene Wagner (Ingrid Bergman) keeps one secret from her husband, a prominent scientist, and the effort of hiding it has begun to wear on her. Then Johanna Schultze (Renate Mannhardt), the jealous former lover of Irene's lover Erich Baumann, finds out and starts demanding payment for her silence. Roberto Rossellini shoots it with the light and shadow of noir, a debt to German Expressionism, and a touch of Hitchcock.
