Vince Grayson (DeForest Kelley), a bank employee, wakes from a dream so vivid he suspects it happened: he killed a man in an octagonal room lined with mirrors while a woman worked at a safe. A picnic with relatives is meant to clear his head, until a thunderstorm drives the party into a nearby mansion. Maxwell Shane lets Vince walk through its door and into the mirrored room, where it matches the dream.
