“Winning just might be the death of you.”

Lori Granger (India Fowler) is an outsider at Shadyside High in 1988 who wants one thing, the prom queen crown, and she is running against Tiffany Falconer (Fina Strazza), whose mother Nancy (Katherine Waterston) has her own plans for the night. Matt Palmer sets the campaign among the candidates just as someone starts picking them off. Vice Principal Dolores Brekenridge (Lili Taylor) is still handing out sashes and ballots, and the dance floor is waiting.
