“A woman betrayed and imprisoned. A mission of vengeance.”

In a Japanese women's prison in 1972, Nami Matsushima (Meiko Kaji) is inmate number 701, sent there after the detective she loved, Sugimi (Isao Natsuyagi), set her up and left her to the mob. Shunya Ito, making his directorial debut, puts her under the eye of Warden Goda (Fumio Watanabe) and the guards he runs it with. Matsushima wants revenge on the man who sold her out, and the prison is where that wanting hardens.
