A young bull named Ferdinand (John Cena) grows up in Spain dreaming of flowers instead of fighting, but when he's mistaken for a dangerous beast, he's swept into the world of bullfighting. With help from his street-smart friend Lupe (Kate McKinnon), he has to find his way home before stepping into the ring. Saldanha animates the Spanish countryside in bright washes of color, letting Ferdinand's gentleness shine as an act of defiance.
