Field of Dreams

“All his life, Ray Kinsella was searching for his dreams. Then one day, his dreams came looking for him.”

Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner), an Iowa farmer, wants to do right by a voice he hears in his cornfield, even if it means ripping out his crop. It tells him to build a baseball diamond, and he does, with his wife Annie (Amy Madigan) and their daughter Karin (Gaby Hoffmann) looking on. Phil Alden Robinson lets the voice keep giving directions, and the film keeps coming back to what a person owes the things he can't explain.
