Fifth Avenue Girl

(1939)Directed by Gregory La Cava83 minComedy, Romance
“From park bench to parkside mansion in a riot of romantic complications and Hi-Hat Hilarity!”

Mary Grey (Ginger Rogers) is a poor girl with nowhere in particular to be, and she wants only a decent meal and a night off her feet. She gets a good deal more when Mr. Borden (Walter Connolly), a wealthy man whose wife and children barely notice him, hires her to pose as his mistress. Gregory La Cava lets the household's rooms fill up with talk and the cast overlap each other's lines.
