Final Portrait
“The search for perfection never ends”
Alberto Giacometti (Geoffrey Rush) is the Swiss sculptor and painter whose work has made him one of the most respected artists in Paris, and in 1964 he asks his friend, the American writer James Lord (Armie Hammer), to sit for a portrait. He promises it will take two or three hours, an afternoon at most. Stanley Tucci sets the film in the clutter of Giacometti's studio, where a simple favor becomes a question of when a painting can ever be called finished.
