“...the most devastating killing machine ever built... his job... steal it!”

Word has reached the West of a Soviet jet called Firefox, said to be invisible to radar and fast enough to make a first strike impossible to stop. Kenneth Aubrey (Freddie Jones) sends Mitchell Gant (Clint Eastwood), a former Vietnam pilot, into the Soviet Union under cover to take it. Eastwood directs, and the film follows Gant toward a hangar where the one aircraft that can end the argument sits waiting.
