“Every dream starts with a spark.”

In 1920s New York, sixteen-year-old Georgia Holden (Olivia Cooke) keeps trying to get herself onto a fire crew, in a city where the job is not offered to girls. Her one ally is Captain Joe Nolan's rival, the veteran firefighter Shawn Nolan (Kenneth Branagh), and the film pairs them under the direction of Theodore Ty and Laurent Zeitoun. Georgia stands at the firehouse door in her too-big coat, the city's alarm bell hanging above her.
