Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) designs security systems for a bank, and he wants only what a careful man wants: a house in order, a wife and two kids, nothing he hasn't already planned for. Then Bill Cox (Paul Bettany), a criminal who has studied him for a long time, walks into that life and takes his family hostage. Richard Loncraine puts Jack and Beth (Virginia Madsen) on opposite sides of a locked door, each afraid for the other.
