First Love

Vittorio, a goldsmith, answers a classified ad and meets Sonia, who is sweet, intelligent and, in his eyes, 125 pounds too heavy. He starts working on her the way he works metal. Matteo Garrone follows the two of them into a country house in the Veneto hills, where each game they agree to pushes the world further out of reach. It is a love story about wanting to reshape another person until nothing of them is left.
