First Man

“One giant leap into the unknown.”

Neil Armstrong (Ryan Gosling) is a test pilot and engineer who says very little, even as the space program pulls him toward a goal nobody has reached: the surface of the Moon. Damien Chazelle follows the years before Apollo 11, when the work costs the people around Neil as much as it costs him. At home, his wife Janet (Claire Foy) carries the weight of every launch and the silence that follows him through the door.
