First Men in the Moon
“H.G. Wells' Astounding Adventure in Dynamation!”
The world cheers when a crewed spacecraft lands on the moon, until the astronauts find an old British flag and a document claiming the place for Queen Victoria. The trail leads back to Arnold Bedford (Edward Judd) and the eccentric inventor Joseph Cavor (Lionel Jeffries), who built their own craft in Victorian England. Nathan Juran sends them toward a lunar surface with Ray Harryhausen's Selenites, and the question of who gets to claim it hangs over the whole trip.
