Five Children and It

“You are invited to discover the secret...”

Five siblings digging in a gravel pit uncover the Psammead, an ancient sand-fairy with a spider-shaped body, bat-like ears and snail-like eyes. It is ill-tempered, and it can grant one wish a day, which has to be made before sunset. John Stephenson follows Cyril (Jonathan Bailey), Anthea (Jessica Claridge) and Robert (Freddie Highmore), and the grumpy creature sits there, all ears and eyes.
