Five Evenings

Aleksandr Petrovich Ilyin (Stanislav Lyubshin) comes back to the city where he lived before the war, and while visiting a telephone operator he spots a familiar house through her window. He decides to stop in for fifteen minutes, which lands him in a communal apartment where Tamara Vasilyevna (Lyudmila Gurchenko) lives. Mikhalkov brings them together twenty years after the war pulled them apart, two people who have to find out what is still left between them.
