Fixed Bayonets!

(1951)Directed by Samuel Fuller92 minWar, Drama, Action
“Bayonets All-Steel…Hearts ALL-AMERICAN…Their story ALL GLORY!”

Corporal Denno (Richard Basehart) is a soldier who doesn't want to give orders, and who keeps being handed them anyway. His platoon is left behind as a rear guard during a winter withdrawal in Korea, and the men above him are killed one by one until the command is his. Sergeant Rock (Gene Evans) and Sergeant Lonergan (Michael O'Shea) are the men he leans on. Fuller shoots it close and cramped, with the platoon's fear running through every frame.
