“CHOOSE!... Between your white father and your Kiowa mother !”

In Texas, as conflict breaks out between the Kiowa and the white settlers, Pacer Burton (Elvis Presley) belongs to both sides and is trusted by neither. His mother Neddy (Dolores del Río) is Kiowa, his father Sam (John McIntire) is white, and his brother Clint (Steve Forrest) looks like the people the Kiowa are fighting. Don Siegel keeps the story spare and the pace hard, a Western with no room for easy loyalties.
