Flanders

Why does a farmer who barely speaks keep taking the little Barbe (Adélaïde Leroux) gives him, then leave it all behind for a war in a far-off land? André Demester (Samuel Boidin) is shipped out with the men from his town, and Bruno Dumont follows them from the farm country into combat. Back home Barbe waits, and the film keeps cutting between the two of them across the seasons.
