“A '60s radical. An uptight fed. It's gonna be a real trip!”

Huey Walker (Dennis Hopper), a hippie radical, wants nothing more than to stay out of a courtroom, and he has dodged one for decades over a crime he may not have committed. Then he is caught, and John Buckner (Kiefer Sutherland), an uptight young FBI agent, is handed the job of escorting him to trial. Franco Amurri sends the mismatched pair down the road, and a small-town sheriff, Rand Hightower (Cliff DeYoung), stands between them and the courthouse.
