Flashdance

“Something happens when she hears the music... it's her freedom. It's her fire. It's her life.”

Alex Owens (Jennifer Beals) works as a welder at a Pittsburgh steel mill by day and dances at a bar by night, with a plan to audition for a professional ballet company. Adrian Lyne cuts the dance numbers fast and bright, and the film follows her through both jobs. Her boss at the mill, Nick Hurley (Michael Nouri), becomes her lover and the one person who keeps telling her to go after it.
