“Just an ordinary day in the life of a male hustler.”

Joe (Joe Dallesandro) leaves the apartment he shares with his wife Geri (Geraldine Smith) and walks into Manhattan to find paying customers. He needs money to cover an abortion for Geri's girlfriend, and the clients he meets along the way are lonely, damaged and sometimes delusional. Paul Morrissey shoots the day in long, unhurried takes while Joe keeps working, tired and passive, and never quite looks like he wants to be there.
