Fletch Lives

“When there's more trouble than one man can handle...there's more than one man for the job.”

Irwin "Fletch" Fletcher (Chevy Chase), a newspaper reporter who talks his way into every room, flies to small-town Louisiana to look over a tumbledown mansion he has inherited. Michael Ritchie drops him among strangers and then lets him flirt with a woman who turns up dead, which makes Fletch the suspect. He and Becky Culpepper (Julianne Phillips) end up working the case together, each trying to work out how far the other can be trusted.
