Flight of the Red Balloon

In Paris, shot over August and September of 2006, a family lives through an ordinary stretch of days. Suzanne (Juliette Binoche) is a busy mother raising her son Simon (Simon Iteanu), and Song (Song Fang), a Chinese film student, comes in to look after him. Hou Hsiao-hsien, in his first Western film, follows them while a red balloon drifts above the city, bobbing past the rooftops.
