Juli Baker (Madeline Carroll) has been in love with her neighbor Bryce Loski (Callan McAuliffe) since second grade, watching him from across the street with a certainty that feels permanent. Bryce finds her relentless attention awkward and wants nothing to do with her. Over the course of a school year, both of them begin to see each other differently, and what started as one-sided longing becomes mutual affection.
