Flora and Son

“Talent is relative.”

Flora (Eve Hewson) can't work out why her teenage son Max (Orén Kinlan) keeps drifting toward trouble, or how a single mother in Dublin is supposed to stop him. Her attempt to fix it begins with a beat-up acoustic guitar and a guitar lesson from Jeff (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a washed-up musician in Los Angeles. John Carney puts the three of them in small rooms, the old guitar propped against the wall.
