Flowers for Algernon

(2000)Directed by Jeff Bleckner91 minDrama
“Last month, Charlie Gordon couldn't read. Now he's quoting Shakespeare. Can the medical miracle that changed his life help him understand the meaning of love?”

Charlie Gordon (Matthew Modine), a man with an intellectual disability, wants more than anything to be a genius, and he is picked for an experimental surgery that could make it happen. Dr. Jonah Strauss (Ron Rifkin) runs the procedure, and Alice Kinian (Kelli Williams) is the woman Charlie grows close to as he changes. Jeff Bleckner directs this television adaptation of Daniel Keyes' novel with a steady, unhurried hand.
