Footnote

“Pride, envy, vanity… How far would you go for recognition?”

A phone call reaches the Shkolnik family in Jerusalem and upsets the careful balance between two professors of Talmud. Eliezer (Shlomo Bar-Aba) is a stubborn, methodical scholar who has never been recognized for his work, while his son Uriel (Lior Ashkenazi) is the colleague everyone praises. Joseph Cedar puts father and son in the same department and the same small rooms, where neither can stop measuring himself against the other.
