For Love of the Game

“Billy Chapel must choose between the woman he loves and the game he lives for.”

It is the final game of the season at Yankee Stadium, and Billy Chapel (Kevin Costner), forty and a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, has been told his career may be over. Sam Raimi follows him through the afternoon as he steadies himself on the mound by remembering four years with Jane Aubrey (Kelly Preston). The game is the stage, but what Billy actually has to work out is whether he can say to her what he never has.
