Fourth of July

“An American Mess”

Jeff (Joe List), a jazz pianist in New York and a recovering alcoholic, wants to be done with the old wounds his family has handed him since he was a child. So he drives to rural Maine for their annual Fourth of July visit, ready to say it all out loud to his mother (Paula Plum) and father (Robert E. Walsh). Louis C.K. directs, and the film gathers around Jeff in the Maine house, among relatives who answer him with sharp tongues.
