Michael Feldmann (Lior Ashkenazi) wants his family to stay in order, and when soldiers arrive at the door of his Tel Aviv apartment to tell him and his wife Daphna (Sarah Adler) that their son Jonathan (Yonatan Shiray) has died at his post, that order goes. Samuel Maoz stages the film in three parts, framing the rooms and the desolate checkpoint with a stillness that leaves the characters nowhere to look away.
