“When you think you've gone far enough, go farther.”

In a small English seaside town, Jon Burroughs (Domhnall Gleeson) is a would-be songwriter stuck in an office job when he lands a keyboard spot in a strange band called Soronprfbs. Lenny Abrahamson follows him into their recording sessions, where the singer Frank (Michael Fassbender) never takes off the huge papier-mâché head he wears. Jon stands at the edge of the rehearsal room, watching that blank, round face turn toward him.
