Preest (Ryan Phillippe) walks through Meanwhile City in a mask, a lone investigator in a metropolis where every citizen must belong to a faith. In present-day London, Emilia (Eva Green), Milo (Sam Riley) and Esser (Bernard Hill) each carry their own trouble, and a single bullet ties the two worlds to all four of them. Gerald McMorrow's debut keeps Emilia at its center, a woman whose life is bound up with that bullet.
