Fred Claus (Vince Vaughn) just wants out from under his brother's halo, since being the older sibling of Nick (Paul Giamatti), the man the world knows as Santa, has left him bitter and broke. David Dobkin sends him to the North Pole when Nick calls in a favor, and an efficiency expert arrives to judge whether the whole operation should be shut down. Fred shows up with his attitude and a big brother's habit of needling, standing among the toy workshops.
