Free Willy

“How far would you go for a friend?”

Jesse (Jason James Richter) is a maladjusted orphan placed with foster parents after he vandalizes a theme park, and the court makes him work there to pay for the damage. In the park's tank he meets Willy (Keiko), a young orca separated from his family, and Rae Lindley (Lori Petty), the trainer who helps the two build a routine of tricks. Simon Wincer ends up on a boy and a whale alone in the water, each one the only company the other has.
