Freebie and the Bean

“Above all... It's a love story.”

Nobody in San Francisco can pin anything on Red Meyers (Jack Kruschen), and the city's hijackings keep running through him. Freebie (James Caan) and Bean (Alan Arkin) are the detectives who want him badly, and they have to reach him before a hitman does. Richard Rush sends the pair through the streets of San Francisco, Caan and Arkin trading insults the whole way, the car still rolling after the shouting stops.
