Freedomfighters

María (Ariadna Gil) is a young nun who has to run from her convent when the Spanish Civil War breaks out, and the only door that opens for her belongs to a brothel. An anarchist women's group, with Pilar (Ana Belén) and Floren (Victoria Abril) among them, frees the house, and María joins them on the road to the front. Vicente Aranda follows these women into a war where the Nationalists are only one enemy, and men on their own side want them out of the fighting.
