Alex Furlong (Emilio Estevez) is a race-car driver who wants one thing, to keep driving, and a crash in 1991 looks like the end of it. Instead, bounty hunters led by Victor Vacendak (Mick Jagger) pull him forward to 2009 New York, where the terminally ill billionaire Ian McCandless (Anthony Hopkins) has bought a new body to live in. Geoff Murphy sends Alex running through the city, and if they catch him, his mind is wiped for good.
