Fremont

In Fremont, California, a city with a large Afghan community, Donya (Anaita Wali Zada) works at a fortune cookie factory, writing the little slips of paper that go inside. A former translator who left Kabul, she lies awake most nights and talks it over with her therapist, Dr. Anthony (Gregg Turkington). Babak Jalali follows her through these quiet days, and Donya keeps looking for someone to love while carrying the people she left behind.
