French Lover

“She lives far from the spotlight, he lives for it.”

Abel Camara (Omar Sy) is a jaded actor, and the reason a down-on-her-luck waitress in Paris catches his attention is the first thing the film keeps from him. Marion (Sara Giraudeau) pours his coffee and goes back to her shift, and what starts between them is easy and unplanned. Lisa-Nina Rives sets a private love beside a public life, and the film is about what the spotlight does to a love that began in a café.
