“Just an ordinary necktie used with a deadly new twist.”

London has a killer who strangles women with a necktie, and the police have no one. Then Dick Blaney (Jon Finch), a broke ex-RAF man, becomes the suspect after his ex-wife Brenda (Barbara Leigh-Hunt) is found dead. Hitchcock sends Dick running while DCI Oxford (Alec McCowen) closes in, and Dick has only his own word that he is innocent.
