“The future is listening.”

John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel) is a police officer who has spent thirty years without his father, a firefighter who died when John was a boy. A rare phenomenon lets him reach Frank (Dennis Quaid) over an old radio, and John uses the call to try to change how Frank dies. Gregory Hoblit sets the two men on the same stretch of night, thirty years apart, the father's voice coming through the speaker.
