From the Land of the Moon

In 1950s France, Gabrielle (Marion Cotillard) is married off to José (Àlex Brendemühl), a quiet laborer she does not love, because her family can think of nothing else to do with her. Then she meets André Sauvage (Louis Garrel), a lieutenant wounded in the Indochinese War, and the longing she has been told to shut away starts to move. Nicole Garcia ends up on Gabrielle herself, a woman at the center of the frame who keeps looking past it.
