Fruitvale Station

“Every step brings you closer to the edge.”

It is December 31, 2008, in Oakland, and Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan) spends the last day of the year moving between his girlfriend Sophina (Melonie Díaz), his daughter, and his mother Wanda (Octavia Spencer), whose birthday falls the same day. Ryan Coogler, in his first feature, follows him through ordinary errands and conversations. Oscar is trying to get his life in order, and the film shows him at it, one small decision after another.
