Alex Schlotsky (Alex D. Linz) plays for a team of young Jewish basketball players who can't win and have stopped expecting to. They go looking for a coach during Hanukkah and land on Lamont Carr (Richard T. Jones), a former University of Virginia star. Stuart Gillard films the team in a Toronto gym, with Alex, Big Ben Swartz (Sean Marquette) and Stick Goldstein (Jase Blankfort) crowded together on the bench.
