Zhang Da (Shen Teng) is a low-ranking officer in the Song Dynasty who ends up in charge of a murder case at Chancellor Qin Hui (Lei Jiayin)'s palace, just after the Chancellor has met delegates from the neighboring Jin Dynasty.
