“Cambodia, April 1975”

On April 17th, 1975, the Khmer Rouge take Cambodia, and Chou (Bérénice Bejo) is driven out of the emptied city with her family, walking toward a future no one has explained. Her young son is torn away from her in the chaos of the march. Denis Do builds the film from what his own mother lived through, and it follows Chou and her husband Khuon (Louis Garrel) as the work camps pull them in different directions.
