“You're on their side, aren't you?”

Anna (Susanne Lothar) and Georg (Ulrich Mühe) want a quiet stretch at their vacation cabin with their young son, Georgie. Two polite young men, Paul (Arno Frisch) and Peter (Frank Giering), arrive and take the family hostage for games of their own invention, and Haneke keeps the camera on the house. Between the couple, every glance and every held hand turns into the one thing they still own.
