“You must admit, you brought this on yourself.”

Ann (Naomi Watts), her husband George (Tim Roth) and their son Georgie arrive at their holiday home on a quiet afternoon. Soon two polite young men in white, Paul (Michael Pitt) and Peter (Brady Corbet), come to the door with golf clubs and sweet smiles, and give the family until morning to survive. Michael Haneke remade his own 1997 film shot for shot in English, and he holds his camera still while the cruelty plays out in the room.
